Lembah Bujang Initiative
Preserving the past. Empowering the present. Inspiring the future.
About Lembah Bujang Initiative
Lembah Bujang is rich with heritage and culture. This initiative celebrates traditional crafts like Batik Tanah and promotes community-based entrepreneurship through a digital platform. Led by Prof. Dr. Razamin Ramli and supported by strategic partners from UUM, we aim to empower locals through sustainable heritage tourism and innovation.
Our Story Since 1990
It began with a whisper of the earth
In the quiet valleys of Kedah, stories were buried beneath the soil — the Kedah Tua civilisation, clay crafts, ancient trades. Since 1990, locals rose to protect the heritage.
Hands of soil, hearts of gold
The community shaped batik with earth, voices with rhythm, and homes with stories. They didn’t just preserve tradition, they lived it.
When the scholars joined the dream
Recognizing the need for community empowerment, KUSPEL work with academia to build a future where heritage supports innovation.
From clay to future
From clay to a symbol of resilience, Lembah Bujang’s craft carries culture, memory, and imagination into the future. Through empowerment and innovation, heritage becomes hope.
